Single Dad Walked 11 Miles To Work Every Day - Until His Coworkers Found Out
February 15, 2018

For the past seven months, Trenton Lewis walked 11 miles every day for work. The 21-year-old from Little Rock, Arkansas, left at midnight to get to his 4 a.m shift at UPS on time.
He never missed a day. He was never late.
Lewis never told anyone that he didn't have a car. He's never been one for excuses -- especially when it comes to providing for his 14-month-old daughter.
"I wanted to be with my daughter, to be able to support her. I wanted to be a father," Lewis told Arkansas Matters.
"My pride is strong. Whatever she needs, I'm the person who is supposed to provide it for her."
But his UPS coworkers eventually found out, and last week, they surprised him with his first car.
"That's a young man that wants to work and will do what ever it takes to be successful," UPS clerk Kenneth Bryant said. "If someone has that type of determination, I'd be willing to help them. We just wanted to lend somebody a helping hand."
Bryant said he started asking around to see if coworkers would pitch in to buy Lewis a car.
"They were astonished that someone would get up at that time of morning, at night, and walk to work that far," Bryant said.
Most of the employees didn't even know Lewis but were impressed with his grit. Soon enough, the group raised $2,000 - enough to buy him a 2006 Saturn Ion.
Last week, Lewis' coworkers asked him to come to a Union meeting. When he arrived, they handed him the keys to his car and filmed it on Facebook Live.
Lewis thanked his co-workers profusely.
"God always has something for you," said Lewis. "I'm never going to forget this ever."
