Norwegian Hunter Finds A Viking Sword That Is Over 1,000 Years Old
September 7, 2017
While out hunting in Reinheimen, Norway, Einar Åmbakk found a viking sword that archaeologists say is over 1,000 years old.

The sword is nearly 1 meter long and is very well preserved.
"I would never have thought that it was a viking sword. It's so amazing that it's in such good shape," Åmbakk told Dagbladet, a Norwegian newspaper.
Archaeologist Espen Finstad says he never had a doubt that the sword came from the historic vikings.
"We're 100% sure," he said. "This is a known type of sword from around the year 900 BC."
