Actress With Down Syndrome Is Breaking All The Rules, And Looking Beautiful Doing It
February 13, 2015
You might recognize Jamie Brewer from the popular television series, "American Horror Story."

Now, the 30 year-old actress is taking her success even further, becoming the first woman with Down Syndrome to walk down the runway at New York Fashion Week.

Jaime hopes her success will inspire others.
"Young girls and even young women… [see me] and say: 'Hey, if she can do it, so can I.'"

"It’s a true inspiration being a role model for any young women to [encourage them] in being who they are and showing who they are," she said.

Jaime was part of this year's theme, "Role Models Not Runway Models."

Designer Carrie Hammer told Huffington Post: "I think it's expanding the definition of beauty from purely skin deep towards passion, purpose and accomplishments. I hope that women and young women see the Role Models who walked on my runway today and start looking up to [Role Models Not Runway Models]."
