Saved A Bird, Cried

My hubs called me out to the pool where a tiny bird was barely treading water. I got him out and kept him upright and warm in my hands for probably 30 while he calmed and dried out, eyes still closed.

He finally fluffed out his wings and opened his eyes so I took him over to a bush and set him under it. He seemed to settle in so I left him be.

I came back 10 later and found him up right, eyes wide open and alert. We stared at each other for a minute, and then he flew off. I cried.

Thanks for waiting for me to come back to see you off so I wouldn't wonder forever if I did it right.
