102-year-old Resident Gets A Lesson From A Young Visitor
By ragan • March 5, 2026
I work at the front desk of an assisted living community.
Today a guest was waiting in our lobby and struck up a conversation with a favorite 102 year old resident who frequently sits there waiting for the mail to be delivered.
Most people would never guess the man is 102… he is mentally and physically quite sharp. One might guess late 70s or early 80s.
Anyway, he was chatting with the young woman about how he used to like using black carbon papers to create copies. She was interested as he described all his many uses for them, and he asked where he might go to purchase a package of this product?
A drug store? Office supplies?
And the young woman said- oh! They are only $3.99 on Amazon! I just ordered a package for you that will be delivered tomorrow!
The next 30 minutes was a conversation of a young woman explaining how Amazon works to a man born 102 years ago! He was SO excited to learn about this service!
