I had the most wonderful experience with a taxi driver yesterday and it really made my day.

I use a walking stick and have some mobility challenges and he went out of his way to help me. I was going from my home to a supermarket to grab a couple of things and knew I would not be long in the shop. He said his wife had asked him to pick up a few things to take home so he was happy to turn off the meter and come in and do his shopping and wait for me and then start it again when we were leaving to come home (which was cheaper for me than paying two separate booking fees by booking a cab to go home). He had just gone through the checkout as I was lining up to pay and when he saw me coming out of the supermarket he came and took the trolley from me and wheeled it to the car, put the groceries in the boot, and then told me to get into the cab and he would take the trolley back and get my $1 coin back too. When we got back to my place he parked as close to my door as he could and carried my groceries to the front door as well. All of this with a friendly smile and a wonderful and cheery conversation along the way.

I have written to the cab company to praise him (they won't take feedback over the phone) as I truly believe he is a gem and deserves to have the company acknowledge that!
