Thumbs Up On The Clouds!

By Judith Maduhu • April 30, 2020

It was a familiar hush sound of the ferry men urging people to hurry and be on board. As always, I was among the late ones (still struggling to be on time). So I managed to catch the boat and the journey began. I was from holidays heading back to work in a small beautiful island and it was one of those days when things weren't just going as I expected. I sat in a corner of the boat, cuddled up with my backpack close to me, in my mind I just wanted to be alone and I didn't want anyone to talk to me because I never wanted to take it out on anyone.

Lost in my thoughts, I stared up at the sky and the scene I saw caught my attention, I looked intently and noticed how a certain part of clouds formed a thumbs up pattern, it was laid so perfectly that I couldn't help but smile. Seeing that thumbs up pattern was like a breath of fresh air and so surreal, it reminded me that everything was going to be alright, that I had to breathe in and take one day at a time.

So, this life ain't always perfect, things happen unexpectedly, at times it gets all messy while at times it feels like you have it all, we should learn to take it all in, stop for a while and appreciate what we have regardless of how small or big it may seem.

Remember to smile and look up at the sky, you never know what cloud pattern may brighten your day!
