I'm A Grown Woman, And It Still Feels Good To Make My Momma Proud
By A Friend • April 3, 2020
I run a number of youth-serving centers in the northeast USA.
Amidst the pandemic, I have been charged with providing child care to the children of hospital workers who are pulling long shifts to keep up with demand.
Today, after more strict orders from our governor regarding closure of businesses, my mom asked if I would be closing. I told her no (we have special permission to stay open) because we need to serve the hospital staff at this time.
She told me I’m her hero.
It feels really good to serve my community and to make my mom proud.
