The God Retires

I was flicking through the channels last Friday when I was mesmerized by a breaking news that the God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar had announced his complete retirement after playing his 200th test. This news had left all the cricket lovers around the world numb as he has been the inspiration, emabassdor and great icon of the the game of cricket. The one name which has been heard in the prayers of cricket lovers zillion number of times, the one name which has dominated the last two decades in the sports of cricket , is now bidding bye leaving all of us nostaligic in his old memories.
I have seen him playing cricket on Televison since I was born and now after hearing this news it's getting difficult for me to imagine this sport without him. Though he has been such a big name in this world but he has never indulged himself in any controversy. But despite his stardom and success Tendulkar remained humble, professional and grounded.
He has brought the smile on million number of faces trillion number of times. For anyone who grew up in India in the 1990’s, there was no greater pleasure than to watch Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar bat with his trademark finesse and almost-textbook shots on the cricketing field. With his 200th Test match impending, the Little Master has finally announced that he’s hanging up his boots post the match.
But time leaves no one and even he is not spare as he is bringing the curtains down on an extraordinary career spanning a marathon 24 years. Emotions will be flowing through the entire cricket world when he will be playing his 200th test match this November and millions of moiste eyes will bid a farewell to him with a feeling in there heart that "The God Retires"......
