Aspire, Dream, Take The Step

A few days ago, I was on the bus, staring out of the window, lost in thought. It was a beautiful day, the sun was out, birds were chirping, the sky was blue, with a slight view of lingering clouds. I felt the warmth and smiled. That's when it hit me: the sky really isn't the limit. I see the sky as a world of possibility, with no boundaries. I've faced loss and challenges head-first. There were so many moments when I didn't realize my own worth or accept me for me. I often go through the cycle or self-doubt, setting up walls and giving into pressure and comfort. I think all of us can relate to a moment where we doubted ourselves or wanted to quit. I think of the road to success like a train on a train track. Within that train is a conductor or the driver. They're what the train needs to run. The conductor has to stay focused with hands on the wheel in order to safely travel. But once they lose focus and let go, they crash off to sides, away from the path of the tracks. I think of this as our focus and ability to stay focused and work hard. It's very easy to let go and "crash" but it's harder to keep your hands on that wheel, focused on reaching your destination. I think everyone is born with the ability to set goals and turn their dreams into a reality. The only problem is the biggest competition we face: ourselves. Our brain plays complex games with ourselves, and if we don't value and take control, it can spiral out of control. Society sets false boundaries for us and breaks us down into classes, and other various sub-categories. The truth is, we can't be molded, we can't "fit" in. We're all different in the most beautiful ways, and once we start appreciating the little things we can make big changes. We are not all born privileged, wealthy, secure, the majority of us have to suffer, stumble, fall until we reach our goal. It doesn't matter how little or how much you start with, if you strive for something, are eager, hungry, focused, hard working and passionate you will surpass whatever stands in your way. Be confident with who you are, practice positive self-talk, motivate yourself and never give up. Smile each day and never let a precious moment slip away. We are the sky, full of colour and endless possibilities.
