Mechanic I've Never Met Gave Me A Free Service

Today my wife and I were coming home from the Vet with one of our cats (Bruce) on board and decided to stop at a local mechanic shop on the way to fix a tire. We didn't want to leave the cat in the car while we waited so we brought him into the waiting room with us.
The owner/manager noticed our cat and began a conversation with us as he had 3 cats of his own. We began sharing funny stories about their different personalities and showing each other pictures on our phones.
After the service was complete I went up to the desk to pay and he told me not to worry about it. I was completely surprised but shook his hand, thanked him, and went home as happy as can be.
Sometimes in a world of so much technology and text messaging, you forget how much people enjoy interacting and sharing stories in person. You'd be surprised where it could lead!
