This Guy Spent 9 Years Turning His Car Into The Legendary 1966 Batmobile
December 21, 2014
In 1955, the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company designed and built a futuristic concept car called the Lincoln Futura. It was built entirely by hand in Turin, Italy at a cost of $250,000, and like many concept cars, was never put in to production.
In October of 1965, it was turned into the iconic Batmobile, and delivered to Fox where it made its television debut on January 12, 1966.
After 9 years, redditor Hugodugio's neighbor in Cypress, Texas, completed his 1966 Batmobile replica, with all the bells and whistles...
He plans on using it for charities as well as taking it to nursing homes. And car shows, of course.
Yes, those are parachutes. And it shoots fire out too.
The engine is a V8 Chevy 350. It gets around 450 hp
