"We got a new video baby monitor and I think that was a mistake," mom Elise Bannister wrote on Twitter.
Bannister found the photo creepy but also hilarious.
"When I first started it up and saw that Finn was just silently staring at the camera like something from a low-budget horror movie I absolutely lost it laughing," Bannister told Today.
The Twitter post has garnered thousands of comments and other parents have also joined in on the fun by sharing their own creepy baby monitor photos of their children.
"Is your baby baptized? If so, might want to try it again. First time clearly didn't take," Twitter user @BrevaVita wrote.
But Bannister wants everyone to know her son is just a normal little boy so she posted another photo of her son.
this has blown up a bit, so I thought I'd post a normal photo of my baby so y'all can see how cute he is 💖 pic.twitter.com/KnZaPavLXS
