Cancer survivor and doctors claim positive thinking is the key to a healthy life

Mary Beth Hall says the key to overcoming down times in your life is to think positive. After all, she should know.

Hall was diagnosed with breast cancer after getting a routine mammogram. Since then, Mary Beth has changed her career, gotten her health back, and wrote a book called, 'Lessons from a Bald Chick'. Instead of looking at her situation as 'Why me?', Hall told herself, 'Why not me?'.

According to Dr. Rebekah Pershing, "There's this idea that when we go through tough times we can't be doing well." And once you start to believe that, these thoughts will manifest into physical symptoms.

This positive outlook is the first step to the "Bounce back factor".

One of the key methods to this idea is to be grateful for what you do have going for you. 

"Right before you go to bed or before you get up in the morning, write down three things that you are grateful for," says Dr. Pershing. " We call them the three gratitudes...you may have just lost your job, but you have your health and relationships, for example."

Everyone in this world is going to have problems arise at some point in their life. It is how you look at these situations that make a world of difference.
