Have you ever wondered what the head of a beluga whale feels like?
It's called the melon which is found in the forehead of all toothed whales. However, on beluga whales it is prominent and overhangs the rostrum. The melon is composed entirely of fats.
Another fun fact: the melon of the beluga whale is also unique in that the whale can change the melon's shape at will.
