Livestock Guardian Dog Introduces First Lamb Of The Season
March 24, 2020
Blue, a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix, introduced his Texas farm owners to the first lamb of the season.
"Blue grew up with the herd, so to the ewes he's kind of a weird-looking, protective older brother," the owner said.
He added: "This particular herd is primarily for wool. So, we let them grow up and next spring we'll round them up for a much-needed haircut! Then it's back out to the range to munch grass and grow next year's crop of fiber. They're merino sheep, so their wool is really gorgeous and fine, ideal for clothing."
