Cancer Survivor Sings 'Amazing Grace' With Her 'Leg' Tongue
July 1, 2019
Singer and actress Elly Brown had a life-altering surgery for oral cancer that completely changed the direction of her career. In spite of her changed face and voice, Elly is determined to continue following her dreams.
"When I was first diagnosed with tongue cancer, I felt SO ALONE," Brown said. "I knew plenty of folks with breast cancer...testicular cancer...but head and neck cancer is very lonely. I hope my head and neck cancer family sees this video and understands that life is still so beautiful and your dreams can still come true."
This is her rendition of "Amazing Grace". She sings it with her new tongue and jaw, rebuilt from bone and tissue taken out of her leg.
