December 19, 2018
"It makes me feel overjoyed to know that my pain has so much purpose."
Vanessa Howard was once a victim of domestic violence while being a mother to three children. Once she worked up the courage to leave her abusive home, she escaped homelessness through her work at a hair salon.
She now has her own salon, where she offers free makeovers to women -- from cancer survivors to women and girls in transitional housing, to survivors of domestic violence.
