Band Releases 'Zombie' Cover And Is Donating Proceeds To Delores O'Riordan's Children
July 9, 2018
On January 15, 2018 Delores O'Riordan was set to record her iconic vocals in the studio with the heavy metal band Bad Wolves for their cover of "Zombie". But that was the day she tragically left the world.
The band still covered the song, and released a music video that paid tribute to the original video by The Cranberries. They are also donating all proceeds to O'Riordan's three children.
"It was the greatest honor to know she liked our version and wanted to sing on it," Bad Wolves singer Tommy Vext said in a statement. "We're deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Dolores and by the fact that she's leaving behind three children so we are donating the proceeds from the song to her kids. It’s such a powerful song and the themes are still so relevant, we wanted to release it in her memory."
