The Most Fearless Winter Olympian In History: Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards

February 9, 2018

"You can see a million and one reasons why you shouldn't go down," Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards.

There had not been any British ski jumpers in the Olympics at all since 1928. Eddie Edwards was not really an athlete. He was extremely nearsighted, too heavy to be a ski jumper, and had no money or funding to train for this expensive sport that he'd have to do internationally. But he wanted to be an Olympian, so he used secondhand equipment to train, and stayed wherever he could (including mental institutes), in order to qualify as Britain's only participant.

This is a short interview and recap of his 1988 Olympic jump that made him a legend.
