January 9, 2018
A medical assistant in St. Petersburg is being praised by many for her innovative efforts to calm a 4-year-old boy down during his shots.
Myranda Monroe of Community Health Centers of Pinellas at Johnnie Ruth Clarke kept little D'mitri calm the whole time with hugs, magic, painting and encouragement.
D'mitri was so proud of himself that he didn't cry, but Monroe couldn't resist poking fun at him.
"No, you didn't cry," she says to him. "You screamed, but you ain't cry."
