Mom Nearly Dies After Giving Birth, But Fights Off The Rare Disorder To Make An Amazing Recovery
May 15, 2017
Holly Gerlach became pregnant with her first child at the age of 26. But just three weeks after giving birth, her life came crashing down.
She was diagnosed with GBS, a rare autoimmune disorder. For months she was in extreme pain and could only breathe with the help of a machine.
But Holly refused to let the disorder win. She fought with everything she had and she won.
Holly had to learn how to use all the muscles in her body again, and eventually how to walk. It was a long four months before she was able to return home to be a mother again, but she has made an almost complete recovery.
