When we first start out in life, it seems endless but as we go through it, we slowly find out that it's very short and finite (an endless spinning cylinder but the cylinder unravels to reveal a finite plane). None of us get to know how long our lives really are- every day is just another revolution on a cylinder. If we could unravel that cylinder and take a peek at where the end is, most of us would take it more seriously.
