Heroic Residents In Hawaii Rescue 98-Year-Old Woman Trapped In Rising Floodwaters
March 27, 2026
With severe flooding in Mokuleia, Oahu, a dangerous situation quickly unfolded—but so did an incredible act of community heroism.
A 98-year-old woman found herself trapped inside her home as rising floodwaters made conditions increasingly unsafe. With time running out, nearby residents jumped into action.
At first, they considered carrying her out by hand. But realizing the risks, they came up with a smarter—and safer—solution: a front loader tractor.
@mistah_mean Da Hawaiians is hea 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 initially they was gonna carry out the 98 year old woman but instead they used the front loader. I was so proud of these guys today.
