School Writes Song For Retiring Lunch Lady And Sings It On Her Last Day

January 16, 2026

At an elementary school in the UK, staff and students came together to give a heartfelt send-off to their beloved kitchen manager, Kathleen, who recently retired after 13 years of service.

Instead of a typical farewell, they rewrote the lyrics to “Sweet Caroline” to create a special goodbye song just for her.

Great Denham Primary School shared the touching moment on social media:

“Our song for wonderful Kathleen, our kitchen manager, who left after 13 years at GDPS! Special moment!”
