Yes, Tiny Bat Pacifiers Exist
July 14, 2025
In an adorable video shared by Wings Paws N Claws, a baby flying fox named Capella is seen enjoying his daily bath, complete with a pacifier in his mouth and a little wing stretch in the sun.
According to his licensed carer, flying fox pups are normally cleaned all day by their mothers, so wildlife rescuers gently mimic that with one careful bath a day to avoid stripping their natural oils.
After the bath and a few tummy tickles, Capella gets to relax in the sunlight for about 30 minutes—perfect for drying off and flapping his tiny wings, which helps prevent bacterial infections like “slimy wing.”
“This is all part of maintaining their wing health,” the rescuer shared. “As you can see, the babies love bath time!”
It’s important to note: bats are not pets. Capella is being cared for by a licensed, vaccinated wildlife rescuer trained in their rehabilitation.
