Here's a bizarre tradition that you probably never knew existed.

This first clip in the video below is from the 1937 PGA Championship. Dennis Shute beat Jug McSpaden on the 37th hole.

As soon as the ball rolled into the hole, it was for anyone to take.

The second clip in the video has a similar ending.

I would watch more golf if this tradition was reinstated.
