In this video shared by Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda, an elephant and her calf step into a pool of water. Seconds later the mother realizes something is hiding beneath the surface.

The baby felt the threat and went straight to one of the safest places on Earth -- underneath a parent elephant.
