The Sand Octopus Cannot Change Colors, But It Can Hide

The sand octopus cannot change colors to blend in with its surroundings -- but it can still hide.
According to New Scientist, the sand octopus creates the "quick sand" by shooting jets of water. Once it buries itself in the soft sand, it raises two arms to create a chimney which allows it to breathe underground.
