Blind Girl Surprised With Braille Harry Potter Books For Christmas
December 29, 2020
Emrie was born with a very rare gene anomaly that left her without vision. She learned braille when she was only 4 and is now reading years above her age level.
Her father started reading the Harry Potter novels to her a little over 6 months ago. He would read to her each night and they would relive the magic for days as Emrie never forgot a single detail of the wonderful world she heard her daddy read about. But they have recently stopped reading the books because Emrie wants to read them herself.
However, braille Harry Potter books are hard to find at libraries and cost a lot of money to purchase.
So, her started a GoFundMe to buy braille Harry Potter books for Emrie, and used the extra money raised to donate five Braille Harry Potter book sets to libraries/schools for other children to enjoy, too.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who donated and made this Christmas extra special for my niece Emrie!" Kateyn Suter wrote. "As you can see she is beyond excited to be able to read the Harry Potter books herself!"
