A Baby Kangaroo Is Rescued And Reunited With Mom After Falling Down A Drain

September 28, 2014

People living in a house next to a drain noticed a kangaroo hopping frantically around the drain and calling out to something inside. A baby kangaroo had fallen into the drain and could not get out.

The mother stood closeby and watched, understanding that the people were there to help. Like many mothers in the animal kingdom, a kangaroo can get aggressive to protect their young, but her body language gave the rescuers confidence she would not try to harm them.

They brought the baby to safety and made sure she wasn't badly injured before giving her back to mom.

The mom placed her baby back in the pouch and cleaned her up.

"She was so busy cleaning her Joey up I don't think she even noticed we were there afterwards," the rescuer said.
