Are You One Of Colin's Friends? If Not, You Should Be

June 27, 2014

This is Colin. Because of his disabilities, social skills are not easy for him, and he often acts out in school, and the other kids don't like him.

So when his mom asked him if he wanted a party for his 11th birthday, he said there was no point because he has no friends. It broke her heart.

She found out he eats lunch alone in the office everyday because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone in the office.

She wanted to make him feel special on his birthday, so she created a Facebook page called "Colin's Friends".

"So I thought, if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party. Please join me in making my very original son feel special on his day."

The page was created on February 2, 2014 and currently has over 2 million likes.

"One month and one week before my son's 11th birthday, I created this page thinking a few of my personal friends and family would like the page, and leave birthday messages for Colin, and it would be a nice surprise. But God had other plans. The page went "viral", and we were so blessed with an outpouring of love from around the world. Now, Colin's birthday has passed, but we are still here, a community of love, thanks to all of Colin's Friends."

And it gets even better. A popular rock band called "Galvanized Souls" was so inspired by Colin that they wrote a song and made him the star of their music video!

Please share Colin's story and make sure you become one of his friends on Facebook!
