A family in Sparks, Nevada, experienced an unexpected act of kindness during an incredibly difficult moment, thanks to the compassion of an employee at a local Outback Steakhouse.

According to KOLO, Marvin Gonzalez called the restaurant on Tuesday, January 6, to place an order for his two elderly dogs, Raven and Bruno, who were nearing the end of their lives due to old age and cancer. Wanting to honor them, Gonzalez ordered what would be their final meal.
What the family didn’t know at the time was that the meal had been paid for entirely by an employee. The worker used their daily complimentary meal and covered the remaining cost — $34.49 — using their own credit card, without informing the family.
Gonzalez later said he was deeply moved to learn of the gesture, especially since it came from someone who had never met him.

“I was stunned to discover that not only was the meal provided to us at no cost, but a member of your team went so far as to use their personal credit card,” Gonzalez wrote in a letter to the restaurant’s general manager. “This level of compassion is rare and speaks volumes about the culture of your establishment.”
“Their unwavering kindness made a devastating day slightly more bearable for my family and me. Thank you for employing individuals who lead with their hearts.”
He added that Raven and Bruno were like children to him and his wife, and that the employee’s generosity made a meaningful difference during one of their hardest moments.
“I don’t think this employee knows how much he made a difference. This employee didn’t know me,” Gonzalez said.
