Retired Veteran Was Searching For Purpose After His Wife Passed, Now He's The Honey-Do Dude
February 12, 2025
Today's good news story comes from Waveland, Mississippi.
After retiring and losing his wife, 76-year-old Danny Chauvin found himself with too much time on his hands. A Vietnam War veteran who had battled PTSD and depression, he knew he needed to stay busy.
That’s when he came up with an idea that would change not just his life, but the lives of many in his community.

Chauvin took to Facebook with a simple offer: "If there's any honey-do jobs that you can't handle, I'm willing to help."
He never expected the response he received. His post quickly spread, and before he knew it, requests started pouring in.
"And it spread," Chauvin said. "It spread like wildfire."
Now, he spends his days fixing just about anything—hanging porch swings, installing showers, and repairing closet doors. Sometimes, he takes on as many as four jobs in a single day.
But the most remarkable part? He does it all for free.
