'God Used Me As An Instrument': Olympic Kite Surfer Bruno Lobo Rescues Drowning Woman
January 13, 2025
Bruno Lobo, an orthopedic doctor and Olympic kite surfer from São Luís, Brazil, is being hailed as a hero after saving a young woman from drowning in the ocean.
The dramatic rescue, captured on video while Lobo tested a new camera, has touched hearts worldwide.

Lobo shared the video on social media, captioning it, “The day that God used me as an instrument to save this young woman, all honor and glory to Him ☝🏻 🙏🏻.”
The rescue unfolded when Lobo heard desperate cries for help while kite surfing off the coast. Spotting the woman struggling in the water, he quickly responded.
"After sailing a few meters, I heard a cry for help and looked at the girl who was drowning," he later wrote in a heartfelt post.
Using his kite, Lobo approached her and calmed her down, urging her to climb onto his back. Despite being exhausted from fighting a strong current, she managed to hold on as Lobo skillfully guided them both back to shore.
On the beach, lifeguards rushed to her aid as the woman reunited with her friends. Before walking off under her own strength, she hugged Lobo in gratitude, visibly moved by his selfless actions.
Lobo believes the young woman had been caught in a powerful current that swept her away from the shore.
