Today's good news story comes from O'Fallon, Missouri.

The heartbreaking incident unfolded as Jean prepared for her mother’s passing. Her mother, in hospice care, was nearing her final moments. While speaking with a neighbor outside, Jean absentmindedly placed her phone and the folder containing funeral readings and plans on the trunk of her car. Rushing off, she forgot about them, and the items scattered across a busy highway. Hours later, she realized the loss.
“I didn’t care about my phone at all. I cared about the papers,” Jean said tearfully. “I thought, where do I start now?”
Enter Arnie Dienoff, whose plans for an estate sale took an unexpected turn.
Spotting papers fluttering across the road, Arnie pulled over, braving the traffic to collect what he could. Among the items, he found an obituary.
“I thought, oh my gosh, somebody just passed away, and they probably need this to make arrangements,” he said.

Arnie also found Jean’s phone, which started ringing. On the other end was Jean’s daughter, anxiously trying to contact her mother. Arnie reassured her that he had both the phone and the notebook. When he returned the belongings, Jean was overcome with gratitude - she couldn't hold back the tears.
But Arnie’s kindness didn’t end there. Learning that the most critical paper—a handwritten note containing the funeral’s final details—was still missing, he went back to the highway. Searching ditches and the roadside, he painstakingly retrieved scattered pages.
“The one paper I needed most of all is the one he found,” Jean told KSDK, adding that she felt like her dad sent Arnie to help her from heaven.
Deeply moved, Jean offered Arnie money as a token of her gratitude, but he kindly refused. Instead, she expressed her appreciation with homemade brownies and a heartfelt nickname: "Arnie the Angel."
