A good Samaritan saved the life of a woman trapped in her sinking car after it plunged into a Texas canal.

The incident took place near Iowa Park, where the 49-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle on Bray Road, skidding off the roadway and into the South Side Canal, which has strong, moving water.
According to Sargent Juan Gutierrez of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the woman's car became submerged in the canal, leaving her trapped inside as water quickly filled the vehicle.
A passerby, who had been working nearby, noticed the sinking car and saw the woman's hand desperately reaching out of the window.

Without hesitation, the man rushed into the canal to help. He pulled the woman from the sinking vehicle and safely guided her to shore.
Authorities praised the passerby's quick thinking and courage, stating that without his heroic actions, the woman could have faced a tragic fate.
