Glasgow Woman Places Bracelets Around City To Spread Joy
September 18, 2024
Today's good news story comes from Glasgow, Scotland.
In an effort to brighten up the lives of her fellow Glaswegians, Beth McNeill is scattering bracelets across the city, tucked into envelopes marked "Open me."

Inside each envelope, finders are greeted with a note that reads, "You found me! I have scattered envelopes like this over the city to make the people of Glasgow smile."
Inspired by the Taylor Swift Eras Tour’s tradition of exchanging friendship bracelets, McNeill was moved to create her own version of this trend with a mission to uplift the community. Her simple yet impactful gesture aims to bring joy to those who stumble upon the bracelets, especially during a time when mental health struggles are more common.

"Small, simple acts of kindness really go a long way," McNeill shared with The Daily Record. "Especially with how mental health is these days, and as someone affected by anxiety and depression, I think we need to be all connected and talking. We never know what someone is going through, but if my bracelet puts a smile on someone’s face, whether they’re having a tough time or not, that’s a win for me."
If you're feeling inspired to brighten someone's day, consider leaving a thoughtful message or a bracelet—it might just bring a smile to someone when they need it most.
