The incident occurred at an East Hill apartment complex around 8:18 p.m., the police department reported. An ice cream truck had attracted numerous children to the area when the three preteens noticed an adult man gripping the wrist of their young neighbor. The six-year-old's brother called for her, but she was unable to break free. The girls observed her fear and heard her pleading with the man to let her go, prompting them to follow and intervene.

Without hesitation, the girls began recording the situation on their phones and confronted the man, questioning his relationship with the child. Despite the man's attempt to deceive them, the young girl shook her head, signaling that he was lying. As the confrontation escalated, the man put the child down and attempted to flee. The girls quickly took the child back to her apartment, ensuring her safety.

Multiple Kent Patrol Officers were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call from a witness who provided an excellent description of the suspect. Officers J. Robinson and Corner arrived promptly and apprehended the man. Meanwhile, Officer A. Davis gathered details from witnesses, uncovering the full extent of the girls' bravery.

Thanks to the girls’ intervention, the six-year-old is now safe at home with her family.

The Kent Police Department expressed their admiration for the young heroes in a public statement.

"We want to start this post by acknowledging the selfless bravery of three 11-year-old girls," the department wrote. "They saw their friend and neighbor being taken by a stranger and stepped in without pause to bring her to safety. We are so proud of you. You are amazing."

"The girls should be given awards publicly for their bravery!" a community member commented.

"This brought tears to my eyes. I am so incredibly proud of these girls and they truly need awards," another wrote.
