The daring rescue was captured in a dramatic Hoist cam footage released by the Coast Guard, showcasing the precision and skill required to execute such a challenging mission.

The video revealed the Coast Guard rescue swimmer descending to Leo's location, securing the canine into a hoisting basket, and lifting him to safety.

At 4:15 pm, the Coast Guard helicopter touched down in a parking lot, where a joyous reunion awaited Leo and his anxious owners. The atmosphere was charged with emotion as the heroic rescue swimmer handed over the grateful pup to its tearful owners.

Leo's owners expressed their gratitude and relief, sharing their experience during this unexpected ordeal. "Leo stayed overnight at an emergency vet. He has a few cuts and bruises. All things considered, he is doing good. We are so thankful he is alive and expected to recover," said the dog's owner, visibly relieved.
