After A Long Overnight Shift, These Officers Returned To A Man's Home To Help With His Yard
August 31, 2023
A group of off-duty police officers in Kentucky went above and beyond the call of duty to assist a resident whose health had prevented him from maintaining his yard.

Florence Police Department - Florence, KY
While assisting Florence Fire and EMS on a medical call at a home, Florence Police Officers Michael Stanaland, Hunter Jacobs, Andrew Fields and Macean Cook noticed that the lawn and landscaping had become severely overgrown.
They later learned that the resident was in poor health and unable to maintain the upkeep of the lawn and landscaping himself.
After they got off work from their overnight shift, they gathered their own lawn equipment and went back to the home to mow the lawn and clean up the landscaping.
"In speaking with these officers, none of them did it for recognition; they did it because they knew the right thing to do is to always try and help those in need," the Florence Police Department said.
"They hope this will inspire others to never pass up an opportunity to perform an act of kindness."
