Police Officer Rescues Dog Trapped In Muddy Pond

A police officer in New Jersey paddled a kayak to the middle of a pond to rescue a dog stuck neck-deep in mud.
Washington Township officers were called for a k9 in distress. Akela, a boxer/mastiff mix had gotten loose and found herself stuck in mucky water in a local pond.
Officer John Kuligowski found a nearby kayak and paddled out to Akela.
Akela was in high spirits after her ordeal and even posed for a few quick pictures before being turned over to Animal Control Solutions.
