July 13, 2020

A police officer in New Jersey paddled a kayak to the middle of a pond to rescue a dog stuck neck-deep in mud.

Washington Township officers were called for a k9 in distress. Akela, a boxer/mastiff mix had gotten loose and found herself stuck in mucky water in a local pond.

Officer John Kuligowski found a nearby kayak and paddled out to Akela.

Akela was in high spirits after her ordeal and even posed for a few quick pictures before being turned over to Animal Control Solutions.
