Mom Lindsay Larsen explained in a Facebook post two months ago that she passed out invitations to her son Christian's class of 25 students, but only one girl responded that she would come.
"I put a post on Facebook just spilling my feelings out to my friends, and you know I don't blame anyone. I don't blame the kids or parents, it just makes me sad that this is the situation," Larsen said.
A friend of Larsen's saw the post and reached out to Nampa High School Football Coach Dan Holtry. Nampa is about 20 minutes from where Christian attends school.
"She told me that she had gotten in contact with Dan Holtry, and he wanted to bring some of his best players out for Christian's birthday party," Larsen said.
Coach Holtry sent a text out to the whole team.
"The kids, before I could finish the text, it feels like they were like, 'We're in... Coach, we are in!' They were like when do we do it, let's go. I was amazed how much they wanted to participate in this and take care of Christian," Holtry said.

"He just looked so happy to see us! We were all so excited to be there and all!" said Donovan Estrada, one of Nampa's football players. "He just wanted to play football with us, showing the presents that he got, he wanted us to stay for cake and stuff like that."
The team also gave Christian gifts, including two footballs and a game to play with his sisters and brother.
"This is probably the best birthday ever, I have lots of best days in my life, and this might be one of them," Christian said.
