Man Overhears Stressed Mom's Conversation, Pays For Her New Tires
February 21, 2019
A complete stranger bought a young mother four new tires for her truck after overhearing her conversation with auto shop staff about not being able to afford the $1,400 expense.

Alex, her daughter and Phil
The act of kindness was witnessed by customers and staff at America's Tire in Hemet, California.
"A young lady named Alex with a little girl came in for a flat tire repair," Sergio Rodriguez explained in a Facebook post. "Come to find out, the tires on her Silverado were all bald and in need of replacement."
Rodriguez said Alex was "stressed because she couldn't afford the tires," but "without skipping a beat," a 70-year-old man named Phil said he would purchase the tires for her.
"The entire store was shocked," Rodriguez said.
"Alex said thank you about 100 times. Phil was mister smooth and humble, with a big heart. This man blessed this young lady and simply asked that she pay it forward. I absolutely love this. He dropped almost $1,500. Probably saved this girl's life and her kids."
Alex, who later said Phil's unexpected act of kindness left her "speechless", says she plans on following Phil's advice to pay it forward.
