Police Officer Holds Baby For Hours While Mom Files Domestic Violence Report

A police officer in Utah is being praised after photos showing him holding a baby while the mother filed a domestic violence report were posted on social media by the West Jordan Police Department.

"Our records clerks caught Officer Lofgran during a call detail the other day," the department wrote on Facebook. "A young mother came in with her small children to file a domestic violence report.

Officer [Robert] Lofgran helped watch over the children while this mother got the help she needed for that day. He spent hours on this call. Thank you for your service!"

The post has been liked by more than 3,000 Facebook users and has over 400 shares.
