Simon Cowell Shuts Down A South Korean Dog Meat Farm

Simon Cowell is doing what he can to help close dog meat farms in South Korea.
The America's Got Talent judge has donated over $32,000 (£25,000) to Humane Society International which will save over 200 dogs from being killed and eaten.

HSI plans to go to the South Korean dog farm next week to pick up the canines. After which they will send the dogs to various countries including the US, Canada, the UK, and the Netherlands for recovery and adoption.
"We are excited to announce that Simon Cowell has just donated a HUGE £25,000 to HSI to help us close down a dog meat farm in South Korea saving over 200 dogs from being killed and eaten," HSI wrote on Facebook. "This will be the 13th South Korean dog meat farm closed by HSI, bringing the total number of dogs saved to nearly 1,600."
Closing the farms doesn’t just involve saving the animals. The international charity also helps dog meat farmers transition to more humane businesses, like chili or mushroom farming.
"With every dog farm we close and every farmer we help switch to a more profitable, humane business, we’re showing the South Korean government that it’s possible to end this cruel trade," the organizaton said.
