Iowa Cabinet Company Boss Takes All 800 Employees On Caribbean Cruise
December 28, 2016
Bertch Cabinets in Waterloo, Iowa, announced this week that they will be closing all facilities January 8 - 13. The company's not moving out of town. The employees are.
All 800-plus employees are cruising to the Carribean on the boss's dime.

President Gary Bertch, who co-founded the Waterloo company with his wife, Becky, told workers last week the company had met its goals for the year and they would go on a week-long Caribbean cruise.
Bertch challenged employees a year ago to meet certain goals and offered the cruise as an incentive.
"We were anticipating we'd have better sales again this year," he said. "We just tried to get all of our people pumped up a little more to achieve the various goals, both customer-oriented goals and financial goals."
That's a heck of a lot better than getting a $10 gift card and a pat on the back, wouldn't you say?
