Two golden retrievers are lost for two weeks and one saves the other
October 15, 2012
Penny Blackwell's two golden retrievers went missing for 2 whole weeks in Massachusetts. Desperate to find them, she posted flyers all over town as well as requests for help on Facebook.
After Blackwell began to lose hope, someone reached out about a dog matching the description on Facebook. It was Baxter, and hope was officially restored in Blackwell. Still, there was no sign of his brother Bailey.
Once back home, Baxter took Blackwell deep into the woods to find and save his brother.
"Baxter kind of led me off the side through the woods. I had twigs in my eyes and leaves in my hair," said Blackwell.
Bailey was all tangled up in the brush. Blackwell believes both dogs got tangled and stuck, but Baxter managed to get free after a long 14 days.
Although the dogs had lost some weight during the time they were missing, they are now back to full health and loving life.
Blackwell praises Baxter for being a hero who led her to the rescue of his brother.
