NFL's DeAngelo Williams Pays For 53 Mammograms To Honor His Mom, Who Died Of Breast Cancer

Last year, NFL running back DeAngelo Williams' mother, Sandra Hill, lost her battle with breast cancer. She was just 53 years old. He also lost four aunts to the disease.

Earlier this month, the ex-Carolina Panther and current Pittsburgh Steeler announced that his nonprofit organization, The DeAngelo Williams Foundation, will cover the cost of 53 mammograms at hospitals located in Charlotte and Pittsburgh.

Williams is also responsible for leading the push in 2009 to allow NFL players to wear pink cleats and accessories throughout October for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
