Initially rumors abounded that the white whale was the famous Migaloo, an albino whale who was first spotted in 1991 and was the only known albino humpback until 2011, when an all-white calf was also spotted.
Experts claim this whale is too small to be Migaloo, and does not have Migaloo's yellow spots. That means there is a possibility this is the baby calf previously sighted in 2011, who is potentially Migaloo's offspring.
